City of Oddities
RPG exploration game
ROLE: designer (world-building, quest design, character design, monster design), writer, illustrator
City of Oddities is an RPG exploration game set in present day Brno with a tiny twist. Magic is normal, mythical creatures are roaming the city, and rumors of a secret cult are spreading like a wildfire. Players play as enhanced versions of their real-life selves. Their strengths and weaknesses represent their in-game abilities and bonuses. After meeting a chatty pile of leaves, they set out on a dangerous quest and explore the bizarre places in the City of Oddities.
The Pile of Leaves - Quest
During a late-night walk in the park, you encounter a Pile of Leaves with a glowing ! on them.
As you move closer you can hear soft whispers coming from The Leaves. They are asking you to set out on a secret quest, but it’s very very secret so they won’t tell you anything about it before you accept. You are getting ominous-ish vibes from the Pile of Leaves but at the same time they are strangely alluring...and crinkling through the Leaves does fill you with determination.
Will you accept their secret quest?
Suspicious Snowmen - Monster Design
Location: Under Spielberg Castle, on top of cars outside of your flat, on the trash can in front of your house...you see them everywhere.
Description: They are very tiny. They could fit on your palm. They look like very basic regular snowmen but tiny. You could swear that they are following you around, but somehow, you never have your phone with you to take a pic and show it to your friends...or you forget to take it...anyways, you cannot get any proof of the existence of the tiny snowmen.
After a week of seeing them everywhere, you have a strange feeling that you might be going crazy. You keep telling your friends but they don't believe you. The Snowmen cursed you, and when any of your friends see them as well, they will be cursed too.
Personality: They are not made of snow but of pure chaos. They simply troll people because they think it's funny and it makes them happy.
